‘If she’d waited less than two weeks, she’d be June who died in June. But I guess my sister didn’t consider that.’
Harper Scott’s older sister has always been the perfect one — so when June takes her own life a week before her high school graduation, sixteen-year-old Harper is devastated. Everyone’s sorry, but no one can explain why.

When her divorcing parents decide to split her sister’s ashes into his-and-her urns, Harper takes matters into her own hands. She’ll steal the ashes and drive cross-country with her best friend, Laney, to the one place June always dreamed of going — California.

Enter Jake Tolan. He’s a boy with a bad attitude, a classic-rock obsession and nothing in common with Harper’s sister. But Jake had a connection with June, and when he insists on joining them, Harper’s just desperate enough to let him. With his alternately charming and infuriating demeanour and his belief that music can see you through anything, he might be exactly what she needs.

Except June wasn’t the only one hiding something. Jake’s keeping a secret that has the power to turn Harper’s life upside down — again.

- Goodreads.com description

I've been wanting to write this review since forever. I've read Saving June a while ago, but hell, I am still thinking about it a lot. Because this book, will change your world completely <3 So, I think I owe this book a review.

Saving June is fantastic!! I totally love Harper and her sarcasm and her anger toward the whole world. She was so good and an amazing narrator. She has put everyone first, like her friend Laney, and she never complained once. And at the same time she was taking all the sadness of the world on her shoulders.

I love Jake because he is so chilled out, and he always have to say something remarkable. And he understood Harper completely. He didn't put up with her shit and he challenged her a lot. Which was good! And music, oh the music <3 That was so so sweet!

The writing was so so beautiful. I really love Hannah Harrington's writing, because it has that something something that I can't really explain, but makes her books, one of the best books ever written. Hannah, you rock!

If you haven't read this book yet, I really suggest you to do it ASAP, because it's worth it! ;) Saving June is full of sadness, friendship, love, anger, faith, and strength to keep going on even when you think the whole world is crumbling down around you.

“It's just nice, I guess. Knowing that someone else can put into words what I feel. That there are people who have been through things worse than I have, and they come out on the other side okay. Not only that, but they made some kind of twisted, fucked-up sense of the completely senseless. They made it mean something. These songs tell me I'm not alone. If you look at it at that way, music... music can see you through anything.”

“It's so stupid because all I wanted was space and now that I have it, there's this part of me that's achingly lonely I could die.”

“Sometimes people think they want to know things, but then they hear the answer and realize they'd prefer to be in the dark.”

“I want to stop running away from everything. I want to find something to run toward.”

“Some people think that a place can save them...Like if they could just be somewhere else, their lives would be totally different. They could finally be the people they always wanted to be. But to me, a place is just a place. If you really want things to change, you can make them change no matter where you are.”
