Her first thought: "Who are you?"

It's the morning after her cousin's bachelorette party in Vegas and Megan Scott wakes up with the mother of all hangovers. Even worse, she's in a stranger's penthouse having woken up with something else as well—a funny, arrogant, sexy...husband!

Up until now, finding even a boyfriend had seemed impossible—been there, got the broken heart, sworn off men for good. Then a few martinis with Carter...no, Connor Reed and she's gone from first meet to marriage in one night!

Megan wants a lawyer. But Connor's shocking bombshell?

"I don't want a divorce."

- Goodreads.com description

Waking up married was a light, funny, entertaining and sweet read. The romance is written beautifully and the characters are very different from the ones I am usually used to. Their view of love was somehow twisted, but in the world we are living in now I guess I can totally understand them. Love really takes lots of effort and sometimes people just don't want to invest into it and then be disappointed with a broken heart. Yeah, I definitely understand.

Megan. She was quite a character. An independent woman with a strong desire for a child. She didn't want to wait and invest into a relationship anymore. She wanted a child. So she decides to have an artificial insemination. Her plan was perfect. Until she woke up in a hotel room with a man and a big-rock-ring on her hand.

Connor. Wow, talk about business. This guy was a master piece of a business man. He wasn't searching for long, hell he was running away from it. He wanted partnership. No useless emotions and disappointments, just facts and honesty. Too bad our brain can't really shut down the emotions completely, or I should say at all.

The story was written beautifully. Both characters grow a lot trough the story and they both really try to commit to this agreement. But they both have many issues they need to face and solve. And the side characters are cool too. Connor's best friend Jeff was freaking hilarious.

So, if you're searching for a story, filled with somehow different kind of love story that we are used to, Waking up married is the perfect book for you!

This was the difference between men and women. When Connor texted Jeff to let him know something had come up and he'd get in touch next week, the guy had texted back a single word. Later. End of discussion. Granted, it might have gone longer if he'd mentioned the something in question was an exchange of vows, followed by a case of acute amnesia... but whatever.

But as the tears continued to fall, the heartbreak in her eyes was unmistakable. And damn it, he'd seen that kind of pain before. Knew the kind of soul-deep wound it stemmed from. Feared it.
The kind where a person's whole heart was tied up in the hope of something they understood they couldn't have. The kind another person couldn't fix or fill or make up for... could only pray they were strong enough to withstand.

"No. You didn't. I'm the one who wasn't honest."
"What the hell are you talking about?" he snapped.
"Don't worry, Connor. The only person I lied to was myself."
