About me

Hi there! My name is Nea. Welcome to my blog :) I hope you'll enjoy your stay! I put into my blog a lot of my thoughts, criticism of society and interpersonal relationships today, research in Psychology, my travels, my love for books and so and so on! ;)
How did I decide to have a blog? Huh, it's not actually a long story, after all :P It started like that.. "I am so pissed off of all these people not wanting to share their work from the university! I mean, seriously, I can share. I want to share!" And then this crazy idea have got in my mind. A BLOG. The answer to my frustrations - because I'm a bit, huh how to say?, I forget a lot of times to have said something and things like that. So why not create a blog where there is everything a psychology student needs? Without me forgetting it to send it :P So I created my blog. Upload all my research, my reports, my reviews. I was proud, somehow :P I studied Psychology in Maribor (Slovenia) that's also the reason why, my English speaking friend, you will not be able to understand a thing. Sorry about that :/ But all the reports in my country must be written in Slovenian.
Then I decided I wanted to go traveling around the world. I first thought I will go to the US for 4 months and work a bit as a student and then travel around. The plan didn't go quite well and I wasn't able to go :/ And then I got this CRAZY idea. I am going to London!! I want to live there, I want to feel the English air around me! :) Soon I booked the ticket. I told my parents I will take a break for a year from University (two exams before the end) and move to London. Awesome :D Well, my parents haven't thought about it that way but then again, it's my life, isn't it? :) And so I went to London. Ahh, England <3 And I decided that it would be cool to write some sort of diary - and here is where my blog came in as a great use. I started to update everything that happened to me while my stay in England. It was great! :) It saved me from writing same emails over and over :P

While in London I had lots of free time, which I spent in my new big passion - BOOKS! :) Yeah you heard right. I love books! :) After Vampire Academy - which is, let me say it, the BEST series EVER!! - I thought I will never find a series quite good as this one. And so I read and re-read it over and over and over again. And seriously, loved it more every time I've read it ;) Rose Hathaway will be part of me forever! And so in the summer in England, I discovered some book blogs, which I liked a lot. And I was reading about all those books, which seemed to be great! I decided it will give it a try. Let me say it, I've never picked up Vampire Academy again. Ok, don't get me wrong - I still totally love it - but I've started to read so many books that I simply don't have time to re-read anymore. Ok, sure I make exceptions for the book that really made such a big impression on me, but otherwise, I just read always new books. And believe me, my "To Be Read" shelf is always full and so I always have new books to read. And I mean GREAT books that let you dream about it in the night after you fell asleep while reading ;) So yeah, I needed to start blogging about my new passion! :)
A year later, in 2012 I moved to Edinburgh. I did a Master degree in Psychology of Individual Differences in Edinburgh University (2013-2015). It was a long journey. I worked while studying too. It was a stressful period, but in the end, when I collected my MSc degree it was all worth it. All of it.
In September 2015 I moved to Denmark, where I did a course in politics and German language. I stayed there for 4 months. It was a great idea. I had tons of fun, met nice people and learned some German and finally started learning French (which has been a dream of mine for a long time). I traveled a lot while in Denmark too. I visited Copenhagen, Hamburg, Flensburg, Hanover, Nuremberg, Munchen, and Salzburg.
In June 2016 I moved to Newcastle upon Tyne. This has been a dream of mine for a while too. I love Newcastle and I really wanted to move there one day. It was rated the happiest city in the UK, and the people there are just awesome. I really like it here.
In October 2016 I moved to Brussels for my traineeship at the European Commission where I will be an HR trainee at the DG ECHO. It was the best decision I've ever made.

PS. Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbour. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover. And so I will ;) And so should you! ;)
